In June 2000, I received a "Diplom-Informatiker" degree
(corresponds to a M.Sc. in Computer Science) from Universität des
Saarlandes in Saarbrücken (Germany). My thesis was concerned with "Special Aspects of
Escrow-based E-Cash Systems" and was written under the supervision
of Birgit Pfitzmann and Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi.
Starting August 2000, I was a Ph.D. student and research
assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Until January 2002 I was a member of Ueli Maurer's Information
Security and Cryptography Research Group. From February 2002 on, I
was in Lothar Thiele's Computer Engineering Group at the Computer
Engineering and Networks Laboratory. I defended my thesis in December 2005.
Since March 2006, I work at a strategy-consulting company in
Zurich.
Apart from enjoying the usual things one enjoys, I try to spend as much time as possible with sports (running and swimming) and with "the finer things in life", i.e. with a guitar in my hands. :-) So much to learn and so little time. For great advice about guitar playing, visit Jamey Andreas' web pages.
